This month, Pale Violet caught up with fashion blogger Something Sakura who is also a co-founder of The Bloguettes. We were able to chat a little bit about her blog, The Bloguettes, and some of Sakura's interests outside of the blogging world. Sakura even picked out a few of her favorite Pale Violet looks! Read below to look closer into our little Q&A and check out the pics of her rocking our Forever Mine White Lace Midi Dress.
What was the purpose behind starting the Bloguettes?
I like to call today the Entrepreneurial Age- everyone wants to become their own bosses, whether it's an Etsy shop, or a blog, it's all a small business! Lorena and I both have had to learn through different experiences & mistakes (we still make mistakes!) with our online businesses, so we wanted to create a place where self-learners like us can go to to learn everything when it comes to empowering their business, branding, and their digital presence. We really believe knowledge is power!
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
I have the ability to express myself however I want in a creative way! If there's something I strongly feel about, I can blog it. If I am inspired by something and want to design something, I can blog it. I've also always had a business partner in everything that I do, so it was nice to just have something that was mine. It really is my creative outlet.
What is the #1 piece of advice you would give to someone looking to start blogging for the first time?
It's not as easy as you think, so learn the ins & out before starting it! (pssst! come to Bloguettes Branding Workshop)
How would you describe your style in 3 words?
Minimalist, Basics, and Feminine
So you live in Arizona, what are some of your favorite things to do when your not working?
This sounds so silly, but organizing & cleaning- I rarely have time at home, so I enjoy making the place sparkling clean! Other than that, I love to work out, hang out with friends, hang out by the pool, or just watch Netflix!
How do you hope to see your personal blog and the bloguettes grow in the future?
I really see my personal blog becoming my photo journal- I've only experienced such a small part of my life and I know there's so much more to come, so I can't wait to blog about it and have something to look back on. As for Bloguettes, I see it becoming bigger than it is now. I'm a big dreamer, so this might be a far stretch, but I would like it to really be the Google for answers & tools for all business owners! Lots of exciting things are happening in the next two months for Bloguettes, so I'm excited for the journey we have to look forward to!
